Western Power will be joined by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts, the Hon. Peter Garrett MP. as we launch the Perth Solar City project.

The launch was held in the Old Power House, within the old Midland Railway Workshops. Uniquely located in the heart of Midland, this building perfectly embodies the rich blend of heritage with the potential of a cleaner future.

The Midland Railways Workshops were built in 1904 by WA's illustrious Engineer in Chief, CY O'Connor, the mastermind behind the Fremantle Harbour and Kalgoorlie water pipeline.

The Foundry building is currently home to the ‘Midland Atelier', a cooperative project between the Midland Redevelopment Authority, and FORM — a independent organisation which supports creative, cultural and arts based projects throughout WA.
