Sustainable Communities Competition

Conditions of Entry

 

1. The "How to Enter" web pages on the Perth Solar City website at www.perthsolarcity.com.au form part of these Conditions of Entry;

2. Entry to the Sustainable Communities Competition is FREE and open only to residents of Perth's Eastern region, which includes the following Local Governments only:

  • Town of Bassendean
  • City of Bayswater
  • City of Belmont
  • Shire of Kalamunda
  • Shire of Mundaring
  • City of Swan;

3. Entrants to the Sustainable Communities Competition must be at least 18 years of age;

4. Entries to the Sustainable Communities Competition must be from an active "Community Group", defined as:

  • an incorporated club or association; or
  • a group of residents with a common interest that has formed for the purpose of the competition;

5. An office-holder of a club or association may enter the Sustainable Communities Competition on behalf of his/her club or association and the application will be deemed as being from that club or association;

6. With all entries, the entrants must provide the names, addresses, postcodes, email addresses, and home phone numbers of the members of the community from which the entry is derived who have freely chosen to be included as members of the "Community Group";

7. Entrants agree that Perth Solar City may use all personal information; that is, names, addresses, postcodes, email addresses and home phone numbers solely for the purposes of the Competition, to:

  • Notify winning entrants; and
  • Enable follow-up approaches from Competition Sponsors, Solahart and SunPower and other Perth Solar City Consortium members;

8. The Competition will commence on Wednesday 17 March 2010. Entries are to be received no later than close of business on Friday 28 May, 2010. Any entry received after that time will be invalid;

9. No responsibility will be taken for lost or late entries;

10. Entrants may enter into the Competition by:

(a) Downloading and printing the official entry form from the Perth Solar City website (www.perthsolarcity.com.au); or

(b) Downloading and printing the official entry form from the EMRC website (www.emrc.org.au);

All completed entry forms must be submitted by post to: Sustainable Communities Competition, c/o, EMRC, PO Box 234, Belmont WA 6984

11. Each entrant may submit one entry only. To ensure the security of the Competition, Perth Solar City will monitor whether or not entrants have entered more than once. Subsequent entries by the same entrant will be disqualified;

12. A panel of judges will select one (1) winning entry from each member Council of the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) on the basis of being the "most sustainable community" in that local government area;

13. From all entries to the Sustainable Communities Competition, one individual household will be selected at random to receive a 1.2 kW PV System (including installation and inverter) from competition sponsor, SunPower Pty Ltd;

14. The Regional Winner of the Sustainable Communities Competition will win a 2.1 kW PV System (including installation and inverter) from competition sponsor, SunPower Pty Ltd for placement on a community facility;

15. Winning entrants will be notified by mail, telephone or email and invited to attend a celebratory event that will be hosted by the EMRC;

16. The prize is not redeemable for cash unless the winning resident already has a solar PV system installed as part of the Perth Solar City program in which case an alternative prize may be negotiated;

17. If the winning resident wishes, the prize of a 1.2 kW PV System may be transferred to a charitable organisation located within Perth's Eastern region nominated by the winning resident and approved by Perth Solar City;

18. The decisions of the judge/judges in relation to any aspect of the Competition will be final and binding upon every entrant who enters into the Competition and no further correspondence will be entered into;

19. Perth Solar City or the EMRC shall not be liable for any loss or damage or for any personal injury sustained as a result of taking the prize/s or entering into the Competition;

20. Entrants to the Sustainable Communities Competition acknowledge that the Competition is sponsored by Solahart and SunPower and that they may be approached by the competition sponsors in relation to further offers of goods and/or services.

21. Communities shortlisted in the competition will be contacted by the judging team and need to demonstrate authenticity of their sustainable community claims.
